 History

In 2007, TWB chapter in Nigeria launched a new stage of the development of its mission and programs to support the United Nations in achieving the Millennium Development Goals as well as Education For All. TWB's Millennium Development Initiative, which includes both the Millennium Development Ambassadors and Millennium Development Educators programs, is an initiative that brings together a global alliance of local educators and institutions dedicated to the building of a world without borders and the realization of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals. The initiative is designed in such a manner that the global development divide can be overcome, and a new world emerges, in which everyone can live in freedom, harmony, cooperation, and co-prosperity.

In 2008, supported by Cisco Public Benefit Investment Group's support of our activities, the Women Millennium Development Ambassadors from Nigeria attended the Women Millennia summit in Brussels. The Millennium Development Initiative also includes the advocacy for the renewal of every nation and supports the call for a renewed United Nations, whereby educators and non-governmental ambassadors with other leaders play central role in global issues of development, in order to bring about a new world without borders.  Click the link below to Meet the Millenium Development Ambassadors
